Why Should You Choose a Tankless Water Heater?

Whether your water heater has broken down entirely or it’s just about ready to replace, you have many options to consider. It’s in your best interest to weight all of these choices carefully to ensure you are getting the most effective and efficient water heater system for your home. You do not have to stick with the same type of system you’ve always used!

A tankless water heater, for example, may be a great option for your home. There are many advantages to using this type of water heater, including the fact that you can get hot water on demand. This means you don’t run the risk of running out of hot water from your storage tank. Keep reading for a few of the largest benefits of tankless water heaters.

Efficiency

A tankless water heater is not susceptible to standby energy loss the way that a traditional tank model is. Standby energy loss occurs when heat within the water in the tank transfers out through the tank and into the air surrounding it. Granted, modern tank systems are more efficient than they used to be and can still be an excellent option—however the problem has not been entirely eliminated.

Lifespan

Traditional storage tank water heaters, when properly cared for, have a very long lifespan—typically 10-15 years. Tankless water heaters, while more expensive to install, generally last about 20 years. So while you may have to pay more upfront, you won’t have to worry about replacing it sooner than you should have to. Plus, you’ll be saving enough in monthly costs to make up for the price difference.

Size

Are you short on space within your home? Or perhaps you have a small closet you have no other use for. Tankless water heaters take up very little space and can be installed on a wall, making them much more versatile and space-friendly than their storage tank counterparts.
